COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
ADHESIVE, SEMI-SOLID STICK FORM, WITH DISPENSER
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description by all Federal agencies.
1. SCOPE. This commercial item description covers a general-purpose adhesive, with dispenser. The commercially available adhesive shall be suitable for bonding paper, cardboard, fabrics, and polystyrene foam as well as mounting photographic prints, maps, and drawings.
2. CLASSIFICATION. The stick adhesive (glue stick) shall conform to the following types, classes, and sizes:
2.1 Types:
Type I: White on application, dries clear.
Type II: Colored on application, dries clear.
2.2 Classes:
Class A: Softening Range 50 +/- 3 deg.C (122 +/- 5 deg.F.).
Class B: Softening Range 80 +/- 3 deg.C (176 +/- 5 deg.F).
2.3 Sizes:
Small: 5 grams (0.2 oz) min. to 10 grams (0.7 oz) max.
Large: 21 grams (0.7 oz) min. to 36 grams (1.3 oz) max.
