2.6 Tack free time. A 2.5 millimeter (1.0 mil) wet adhesive film on plate glass shall be tack free, to touch, in less than 7.0 minutes at 20-23oC and 50-60% relative humidity.
2.7 Safety warning. Containers of this adhesive shall exhibit suitable flammable liquid precautions for users and shippers.
3.0 REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Material Safety Data Sheets. Materials Safety data Sheets (MSDS) shall be submitted in accordance with FED-STD-313C or later revision, if published.
3.2 Recovered Materials and Restricted Materials. The contractor shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent possible. There shall be no lead, mercury or hexavalent chromium used in the formulation of the adhesive. Maximum background lead content shall be 0.06 (600 parts per million), oven dry weight basis determined in accordance with ASTM D 3335.
4.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS.
4.1 Contractor Certification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, and the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract or purchase order.
4.2 ASTM. Use the latest method in effect on the date of the solicitation or order. ASTM standards and test methods are available from the American Society for Testing Materials, 100 Barr Harbor Drive, West Conshohocken, PA 19428-2959.
4.3 Essential Acceptance Test. Essential acceptance tests are marked with an asterisk ***.
